We offer a number of classes and workshops on a one-to-basis, arranged to fit in with you. All classes are held following current guidelines.

Get to know your Sewing Machine
If your sewing machine is feeling neglected or you've had your machine for ages and it's still in the box - why not book a special one to one at Craft Arena to learn how to use it!
You could soon be following the latest trends in fashion and updating your wardrobe, making gifts for friends, family and home or setting free your artistic talents by creating your own textile art.
Crochet with Denise
Whether you are a complete beginner or wish to develop your skills, Denise will tailor this 2 hour workshop to suit your skills.
From starting to crochet making a granny square to working in rows or showing you how to work from a pattern, you will learn more about this popular craft.
Embroidery and Mixed Media
Learn to develop your own ideas (or let us help you form a project) for embroidery and textile work.
We will discuss what you wish to achieve, resolving your design, transferring it from paper to fabric and discuss types of stitching, thread and other techniques to be used.
If time allows, we will begin work on your design.
Learn to create patterns on fabric by 'drawing' with your sewing machine.
Once you have learnt this technique, you will be able to stitch your own designs on clothing and household items or use your new skill in textile art.
You can bring either bring in your own machine or use one of ours.
With a special soldering iron-like tool, explore the possibilities of cutting and fusing synthetic fabric using heat.
A maximum of four students will be accepted on this workshop.
Beading on Fabric
Learn basic beading techniques for incorporating beads into textile work.
Using dry-felting techniques, find out how to combine threads fabric and fibres together to create textured backgrounds for either machine or hand stitching.
We will cover the basics of needlefelting pictures and contemporary designs by hand and will also show how an embellishing machine can be used to speed up the process of creating backgrounds for further work.
In this two day workshop we will learn the basics of felting.
In the first session we will make pre-felt in the first session which will be used in the second day to create other items.
Learn how to experiment with various makes of dissolvable fabrics to create textured backgrounds for further work and lace-like constructions to embellish and delight! Some experience of free machining is preferred but not essential.
