Soldered Book Covers with Alex Waylett

Thursday, 27 October 2016 -
10:30am to 4:00pm

We are delighted to have Alex back at Craft Arena for a series of workshops with more coming in 2017. On this workshop you will be using machine embroidery to create your book covers using a craft soldering iron to distress them before adding more stitch. No machine embroidery experience is necessary and you will go home with your own silk lined book cover. You can either bring your own sewing machine or use one of ours (please let us know if you would like to borrow one). If you bring your own you will need an embroidery foot, extra bobbins and an extension table if you have one. If you will be bringing your own soldering iron, please let us know that too.

Please be aware that if you have asthma, or other breathing issues, fumes caused by heat distressing may aggravate it.

Machine Embroidery Skill Sharing

Sunday, 6 November 2016 -
10:30am to 1:00pm

A series of informal monthly sessions to help you get the most from your embroidery machine. A different machine embroidery technique will be covered each month and this time we will be discussing how to embroider different fabrics. The session is limited to ten spaces.
